The photos are taken with a Casio QV3000EX digicam.
Exposure: F2, 20-30 seconds.
Contrast is increased slightly afterwards.

Suddenly a searchlight was lit!

Note the Big Dipper in the upper part of the photo (with the handle pointing downwards). The top of the aurora reaches the third star of the handle, which means it goes up to nearly 50 degrees in the sky!

Now the aurora is faded considerably.
